Creative Kids – Enrichment Class
Creative Kids encourages students to explore their individual creativity through art, literature, sensory, cooking, and musical activities. Each month will focus on a different theme developed from our author study. We will explore books and use an author’s style to influence our creative learning. The children will develop their imagination and expand their curiosity through a variety of art projects and creations. With a wide range of art mediums, the children will utilize different tools (i.e. sponges, vegetables, their fingers and feet…) to create works of art. Students will explore their senses with a spectrum of sensory activities, manipulatives, and building toys. Cooking projects will allow children to create snacks, practice social skills with their friends, and develop their emerging literacy skills as they sequence recipe steps. Musical activities include songs, finger plays, and dances, which encourages the children to have fun while expressing themselves through music! This class also offers dramatic play (i.e., dress-up, bakery, post office, vet clinic, etc.) story time, and outdoor exploration, as well. Come join us for a fun afternoon with Creative Kids! This class is open to all students. Come join us for a fun afternoon with Creative Kids!
S.T.E.M. Explorers – Enrichment Class
This class strives to harness children’s natural sense of curiosity about the world around them through play, scientific inquiry, and exploration. Embedded within our STEM program, mathematical sorting, sequencing, and patterning are featured to encourage the beginnings of phonetic awareness, sound blending, and emergent reading. Games, books, pretend, and sensory play accompany our science experiments and data collection to create an exciting and fun-filled adventure! This class is designed for students enrolled in Fours and Pre-K. Click here to learn more.
Book Club – Enrichment Class
CPI’s Book Club is an opportunity for children to explore a different children’s picture book each week while participating in fun, engaging, and hands-on literacy and math activities. Children will learn through literature while enjoying a read-aloud and creating art. Students will practice skills such as letter and number recognition, story comprehension and sequencing, rhyming, and patterns.
