Class Descriptions

Beginners

Beginners is a gentle introduction to school for our youngest learners. Students must be age 2 ½, and this class is also appropriate for younger 3-year-olds who may benefit from extra support in the classroom. The small class size (maximum of 8 students) facilitates a cozy learning environment where children can develop some of their first friendships. Beginners is a School Cooperative program; we have a staff aide in the classroom, so parents do not volunteer as the Parent Aide, but they do participate in committees and maintenance/cleaning obligations.

Threes, 2-Day and 3-Day

Our Threes program focuses on helping children develop strong social skills and positive feelings about themselves and school. Our play-based curriculum includes lots of imaginative play, sensory exploration, art, games, songs, and more. Threes classes explore seasonal themes, as well as working on name recognition, colors, shapes, numbers 1-10, and other pre-academic skills. This is a Cooperative class, and parents take turns volunteering in the classroom as the Parent Aide.

Fours

Our Fours curriculum prepares students for kindergarten by developing strong social skills, helping them become more independent at school, and teaching foundational pre-academic skills through play. Students will explore seasonal themes, as well as pre-academic skills, such as alphabet recognition, sequencing, counting, sorting, patterns, and fine-motor skills. Students will develop social skills, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and explore their creativity in a rich play environment. This is a Cooperative class, and parents take turns volunteering in the classroom as the Parent Aide.

PreK

Both Fours and PreK prepare students for kindergarten, but PreK is a good option for children who are ready for a little more. Both curricula are play-based, but PreK goes a little deeper and provides additional challenges for our older 4s. Students will develop social skills, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and explore their creativity in a rich play environment. In addition, students will enjoy the special experience of eating lunch with their friends, which is great practice for kindergarten! Some families whose children have late birthdays may choose to delay kindergarten and enroll in PreK after completing Fours. This is a Cooperative class, and parents take turns volunteering in the classroom as the Parent Aide.

Wonder Workshop

This exciting NEW Enrichment class teaches children to explore their world with imagination, innovation, and most of all, fun! Students will be introduced to science concepts and experiments through a combination of art exploration and literacy activities. This class is designed to encourage children to ask questions, make observations, and experiment with different materials. Follow your curiosity to Wonder Workshop every Friday morning!

Extended Day

Does your child need a little extra in their day? Our Extended Day program meets every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Students enjoy lunch together and get some extra time building stronger friendships, working on social skills, and creating and playing through themed art and activities!

Tuition – Fees – Class Schedules

Centreville Preschool, Inc. has a payment plan that includes nine (9) equal tuition installments. The first tuition installment is due on July 1st. The second tuition installment is due on September 1st with the remaining seven (7) tuition installments due the first of the month October through April. These nine (9) tuition installments reflect CPI’s actual attendance of nine (9) months for a given school year.

Members may pay tuition by one of two methods: 1. a one-time payment for the full tuition amount; 2. nine (9) equal payments.

  • The first tuition installment and supply fee are due July 1st. If the first installment and supply fee are not received with the signed tuition agreement by July 1st, your child may lose his or her spot in Centreville Preschool, Inc. to a child on the waiting list.
  • After the July 1st payment, the remaining tuition installments are due on the 1st day of the month beginning September 1st. The final payment is due April 1st for a total of nine payments.
  • All members make two (2) tuition installments prior to the start of classes if they have chosen to pay their annual tuition in nine (9) installments.
  • A $25.00 late fee will be assessed for payments received after the scheduled payment date of the 1st day of the month. If mailing tuition payments to the P.O. Box, late fees are determined based on the envelope’s Post Mark date. If tuition payments are placed in the school’s lockbox, late fees are determined by when the Account Receivables Clerk takes the lockbox down at the beginning of each month.
