Threes Program Class Curriculum
Our Threes program focuses on helping children develop strong social skills and positive feelings about themselves and school. Our play-based curriculum includes lots of imaginative play, sensory exploration, art, games, songs, and more. Threes classes explore seasonal themes, as well as working on name recognition, colors, shapes, numbers 1-10, and other pre-academic skills. This is a Cooperative class, and parents take turns volunteering in the classroom as the Parent Aide.
During the course of the year, our enthusiastic and nurturing Threes teachers will work on the following skills, with emphasis on the social skills at the level appropriate for each age:

Stories, finger plays, recognition of name, colors, body parts, visual memory activities.
Math
Recognizing numbers 1-10, developing one to one correspondence, counting to 20, sorting, recognition of right and left, calendar, shape recognition, puzzles.
Art and Music
Painting with all mediums, gluing, developing cutting skills, Play-Doh, coloring, free art, crafts.
Sensory: Play-Doh, sand, rice table, beans, corn, flour, snow, dirt, kinetic sand.
Music: Songs, rhymes, games, musical instruments, dances
Other Activities
Outdoor play, block play, housekeeping, science activities, show & tell, puppet play, gross motor activities, dramatic play, and manipulative toys.
Student Evaluation
Student evaluations will be sent home once a year. The teacher is always available to discuss a child’s progress throughout the year.
Special Helper and Snack
The snack is provided each day by the participating parent (in the co-op class)
