2020-2021 Class Offerings
Virtual Beginners and Threes (Tuesday/Thursday at 9:00 a.m.)
We have a special program designed just for the developmental needs of our youngest learners! Classes will meet as a group twice a week via Zoom, and activities will include stories, finger plays, lessons about our weekly theme and cognitive games. Children will participate in interactive games and activities that foster color and shape identification, counting, and name recognition. Crafts and sensory activities will help develop their fine motor skills while they have fun exploring their world. In order to help our youngest children build strong relationships with their teacher, this program also includes a short weekly one-on-one Zoom session with the teacher. Join us for our virtual Beginners and Threes class and watch your little one become passionate about learning!
Virtual Fours (Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.)
We know how much our Fours love to ask “why,” and our virtual program is ready to feed that curiosity! Zoom classes will be meaningful, engaging, interactive, and of course fun! Classes will include stories, songs, poems, lessons about our weekly theme and cognitive games. During the course of the year your child will participate in games and activities that foster alphabet knowledge and develop a strong understanding of numbers, shapes, and patterns. Children will also participate in crafts and sensory activities that will help develop their fine motor skills. Enroll your child in our virtual Fours class and be amazed at how fun learning can be!
Virtual Pre-K (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday at 1:30 p.m.)
Our Pre-K program is a great fit for our older Fours, who are ready for a little more academic content while still enjoying our play-based approach. During Pre-K Zoom classes your child will have fun with friends while engaging in meaningful lessons and preparing for kindergarten. Zoom sessions will include songs, poems, lessons about our weekly theme and cognitive games. During the course of the year, children will foster skills such as alphabet recognition, printing letters and letter sounds. Pre-reading and pre-writing skills will also be integrated throughout the year. In math children will work on number sense, problem solving, graphing, patterning, measuring, and sorting. Your child will also participate in crafts and sensory activities that will help develop their fine motor skills. Join us for virtual Pre-K and watch your child blossom into a confident, joyful learner ready for the big step to kindergarten!

Virtual STEAM (Friday at 9:00 a.m.)
In this class, students will be encouraged to use their natural curiosity to increase their critical thinking, creativity, communication skills, and confidence. Classes will incorporate math, building, arts and science, with some technology thrown in! Discovering is learning, and in this class your child will want to learn! Come join us for a morning of fun and engaging STEAM projects!
Outdoors: STEM Explorers (Friday at 1:30 p.m.)
This class will be held in person, outdoors at CPI, as conditions permit. Our STEM curriculum strives to harness children’s natural sense of curiosity about the world around them through play, scientific inquiry, and exploration. Embedded within our program, mathematical sorting, sequencing, and patterning are featured to encourage the beginnings of phonetic awareness, sound blending, and emergent reading. Games, books, pretend, and sensory play accompany our science experiments and data collection to create an exciting and fun-filled adventure! Please note that in order to follow safety protocols and avoid mixing of children between groups, STEM Explorers is open only to Pre-K students this fall.
Outdoors: Core Classes (Monday at 1:30 p.m. or Thursday at 1:30 p.m.)
This fall, we have one 2-hour outdoor class per week for each core class, so that children can come to CPI for in-person socialization and learning. Activities will include playground time, art, toys and activities on the porch, and a read-aloud, finger play, or similar activity. We are requiring masks for this class and will be implementing several additional safety protocols. When you enroll for your core class, you may choose a package with your virtual class plus the outdoor class, or you may choose a virtual-only option.
